The wires in the ground did not change; the plans, prices and apps did. If you search for Cox internet today, cox.com still loads, but it shows Spectrum Internet plans and links to the Spectrum app and support lines.

The service is still cable, not full fiber. Download speeds run from 100 Mbps to 2 Gbps, while upload speeds top out around 118 Mbps on the Broadband Facts labels. That matters if you upload large files or run a home office with heavy video calls; for streaming, gaming and browsing it is rarely noticeable.

Cox internet plans and prices (now Spectrum)

These are the four Cox internet plans shown at a real address in Destin, Florida on September 21, 2026. The “label price” is the internet-only rate on the FCC Broadband Facts label; the “advertised price” is the number on the plan card, which bakes in the $10/mo Panoramic WiFi fee on the two lower tiers. Both are 12-month introductory rates.

All four plans come with unlimited data, no contract and a $0 early-termination fee. Activation is $20; professional installation is $50. Panoramic WiFi (the modem-and-router-in-one) is $10/mo on Internet 100 and 500, included on 1 Gig and 2 Gig, and free on any tier when you bundle Spectrum Mobile or TV. The gap between year one and year two is the number to plan around. Internet 500 more than doubles, from $40 to $85 on the label. Internet 1 Gig goes from $60 to $105. Spectrum does not require a contract, so the practical move is to set a calendar reminder for month 11 and re-shop, or ask retention for the current new-customer promo.

To see what Cox internet actually costs after the Spectrum switch, we ran a single-family address in Destin, Florida (ZIP 32541, in the former Cox Gulf Coast market) through cox.com on September 21, 2026, opened all four Broadband Facts labels, and carried Internet 2 Gig to the checkout page. Here is everything the site disclosed.

Three things stood out. First, the plan cards and the Broadband Facts labels disagree by $10 on Internet 100 and 500 — the card quietly includes Panoramic WiFi, the label does not, so the label is the honest internet-only price. Second, there is no data cap anywhere, which is a real upgrade from a year ago. Third, the free mobile line is bill credits on the first line only, so it is worth exactly as much as you would have paid another carrier.

How to get the lowest Cox internet price

Take Internet 500 if you do not need gig speeds: $40/mo on the label for typical downloads near 588 Mbps, and bring your own compatible modem to skip the $10 WiFi fee. Is Cox becoming Spectrum? The Charter–Cox merger, explained

Short answer: it already has. Charter Communications, the company behind Spectrum, closed its acquisition of Cox Communications on August 20, 2026. Spectrum’s full product lineup — internet, mobile and Stream TV — launched in every former Cox market in mid-September, and cox.com now sells Spectrum plans. Within a year the combined parent company will change its name to Cox Communications, but Spectrum stays the brand on your bill.

What changed for Cox internet customers

What did not change

Existing Cox customers were not forced onto new plans on September 16. Cox promotional prices and price locks continue on their original terms, and there is nothing to sign or schedule to keep what you have.
